ASTORIA — A hit-and-run driver speeding down a Queens sidewalk plowed into a pedestrian Saturday morning, leaving him with serious injuries, police said.
Alarming security footage shows the man walking on the sidewalk about 4 a.m. at the corner of 30th Avenue and 45th Street. He appears to see the white sedan speeding westbound on the sidewalk, but can’t get out of the way before it slams into him.
The victim, 21, survived the crash but suffered a broken femur, concussion and dislocated shoulder, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
Police are seeking the driver, who did not appear to slow down and kept speeding on the sidewalk.
Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
