LIVINGSTON — Snug Harbor Cultural Center's annual fundraising gala will honor Councilwoman Debi Rose for her community service in the borough.

Rose will be presented with the 2014 Captain Randall Award for Community Service at next month's Neptune Ball. Other honorees at the event include Melaine Cohn, director of Staten Island Arts, who will receive the Neptune Award for the Arts along with the S.I. Newhouse Foundation, and Goldman Sachs which well get the 2014 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Aside from the awards, the gala will have live music with dancing, food from award winning borough chefs and a viewing of the latest exhibit at Snug Harbor, "Fluid — Essential for Life."

"During the past three years we have been working diligently toward realizing Snug Harbor's mission as the premier cultural venue for Staten Island and expanding its appeal as a regional destination for surrounding communities in the New York-Metro area," said Snug Harbor's CEO Lynn Kelly in a statement.

"At this year's Neptune Ball, we will celebrate our progress and recognize community members who have made significant contributions to our programs and activities. Our dedicated volunteers and community activists are an integral part of success."
