MEIERS CORNERS — A motorcyclist was killed after his bike crashed into a car at a Staten Island intersection, police said.

The 39-year-old man was driving his bike southbound on Bradley Avenue when he crashed into a 2000 Toyota Camry, who was traveling east on Purdy Avenue, at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Witnesses told CBS New York that the motorcyclist ran through a red light at the Meiers Corners intersection when he collided with the Toyota.

He was transported to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name had been released by police Monday.

The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene and was uninjured, police said.
