CHELSEA — Chelsea will get some love from Uber this weekend.
The cab service app is offering customers 25 percent off trips to Chelsea from Friday to Sunday, complete with a small guide to the neighborhood and a host of goodies and freebies at local businesses.
"The Chelsea scene may look a bit different since the days of Allen Ginsberg and Janis Joplin hanging late-night in cafes and roaming the halls of the Hotel Chelsea, but the West Manhattan neighborhood has never lost its vibrant culture and creative energy," the company wrote on its website.
"This weekend we want to show one of our favorite neighborhoods some special Uber lovin’ by encouraging riders to take a trip and experience Chelsea."
Uber allows passengers to find a ride using a smartphone app. The company has done several other local promotions in the city, including an April 1 promotion that let passengers take a ride along Second Avenue for the cost of a subway fare.
This weekend, a receipt showing an Uber trip to Chelsea will allow riders who purchase an entree to get a free glass of wine or beer at spots like Cull & Pistol at Chelsea Market or a glass of sangria at Cuban spot Coppelia.
Billy's Bakery on Ninth Avenue is offering a free cookie pack or small coffee to Uber riders who buy another baked good. And at Bowlmor Lanes in Chelsea Piers, Uber riders can get a free extra round of bowling with their receipt.
Those more interested in shopping can get 15 percent off any full-priced item at S.K.U. (Save Khaki United) on Seventh Avenue.
A full list of the deals, which will run through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, is available on Uber's website.
