BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Eastern Bed-Stuy's 81st Precinct has a new commanding officer, officials announded on Thursday.

Deputy Inspector Scott Henderson will take over command of the 81st Precinct from Inspector Juanita Holmes, who was assigned to the NYPD's training bureau, police said.

Henderson is a 19-year veteran who has previously worked in the 81st and began his career in the neighboring 79th Precinct, according to the NYPD.

Since February of 2012, Henderson was the commanding officer of the 88th Precinct in Clinton Hill. He has also served in Harlem, Bushwick and East New York, as well as in the department's housing bureau, internal affairs and school safety, police said.

Henderson's first full year as commanding officer of the 88th Precinct was marked by a 6.5-percent drop in major crime, including a 30-percent drop in burglaries.

The commanding officer will be replaced in the 88th Precinct by Capt. Peter Fiorello.
