QUEENS — The former Parkway Hospital, which has become a graffiti-covered eyesore, may be heading back to auction after a company that put a bid down on the building was unable to close the sale, according to Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz.

According to Koslowitz’s office, 70-35 113th Street Holdings LLC won the site at a January foreclosure sale with a $22 million bid.

The company paid the required 10 percent down payment, but missed deadlines to pay the rest of the money on Feb. 10 and March 10 after Joseph Risi, the court appointed referee, extended the closing date, according to Michael Cohen, a spokesman for Koslowitz.

Risi, who met with Koslowitz last week, is considering reopening the auction if the bidder is not able to come up with the funds, the councilwoman said.

The referee was not immediately available for comment.

According to Koslowitz and Community Board 6, a number of residents have complained about the former hospital building since the facility closed in November 2008.

The building has fallen into a state of disrepair, with boarded up windows on the ground floor and walls tagged with graffiti.

Representatives of 70-35 113th Street Holdings LLC could not be reached for comment.
