WILLIAMSBURG — A farm-to-table gluten-free haven has arrived on Bedford Avenue featuring fresh, local, and seasonal fare that promises to please the most sensitive palate.

The Greenhouse at WILD, which had its soft launch at 340 Bedford Ave. in late January, is the third location for the farm-fresh, gluten-free eatery chain, founded by twin sisters and social entrepreneurs Miki and Radha Agrawal. The opening was originally reported by the website Socially Superlative.

The sisters opened the original WILD location in the West Village in 2006, where they touted it as one of the city's first restaurants to offer up organic, gluten-free pizzas. They followed up on their success by launching WILD Las Vegas with the help of Tony Hsieh, founder of online shoe giant Zappos.

All three WILD eateries source ingredients from organic, local farms and feature beer and wine from regional vineyards and breweries. The menu ranges from a $6 gluten-free brushetta to a $24 wild mushroom truffle gluten-free pizza.

With an almost entirely gluten-free menu, the new Williamsburg restaurant has been having a string of “very busy” weekends and is receiving a growing number of delivery orders (available now on Seamless), according to manager Sam Ban.

"We want to make the neighborhood happy," Ban said, adding, "the kale salad is very popular."

Fan Sarah F. wrote on Yelp, "Fantastic service!!...I am super excited to have such a great gf [gluten-free] spot so close to my apt."

The restaurant is currently serving dinner and a brunch prix-fixe, which costs $15.95 and includes a choice of pizza or select organic egg dish, as well as a mimosa, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea. Officials hope to expand to serve lunch, according to its website.

The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.

The new Brooklyn location will also soon provide some signature WILD dining options established at the West Village outpost. In private pizza making classes, patrons will get the chance to craft personal pizza pies while sipping on local wines in the restaurant’s back greenhouse.

Eventually, interested customers will be able to order The WILD Meal Plan — weekday breakfast and lunch options focused on high-protein, weight-loss, or general well-being available for home-delivery or pick-up, they said.

Though true to the WILD concept, what sets The Greenhouse apart from the West Village location is space. With a roomy Brooklyn kitchen, the restaurant has developed exclusive homemade pasta dishes, and its spacious backyard “greenhouse” can be rented for private events. Ban says the restaurant has already hosted a number of large parties and is set to host a 40-person shower soon.

He says he plans events by “working with individuals and their budgets” and forecasts a growing interest in the space and local catering.

As Ban puts it, things at The Greenhouse at WILD seem “so far, so good.”
