FORT GREENE — Shoppers will be able to sip wine, nibble on tapas and browse designer dresses at a single shop opening soon on Myrtle Avenue.

Fashion designer Jill Lindsey said the 370 Myrtle Ave. shop that bears her name will carry so many goodies it will be like a "mini-department store"

"It is a collective lifestyle store, meaning it has gifts for others, gifts for you, exclusively carried products ranging from men's and women's apparel, home-ware and apothecary, while at the same time having a small wine bar with snacks," she said. "There will also be curated events involving live music, crafts, wine tastings and trunk shows."

"[It's] pretty much an all-in-one community shop," she added about the store set to open between Adelphi Street and Clermont Avenue.

Lindsey has designed her own womenswear collections for 10 years and sees her new store as a place to carry her designs — including custom bridal gowns — along with clothing from designers she loves, she said.

The Fort Greene resident is renovating the space that was formerly a locksmith, glass and woodworking shop by restoring its original brick and tin ceilings, adding features like a bar and making use of the backyard.

The in-store wine bar will serve selections from small batch wineries. The food offerings will be Italian- and tapas-influenced, and rotate to pair with the wine list.

Jill Lindsey is scheduled to open in May 2014.
