QUEENS — A man drove beside a 12-year-old girl in Ditmars on Wednesday and tried to lure her into his SUV, police said.
The girl was momentarily separated from her babysitter near Ditmars Boulevard and 49th Street about 4:15 p.m. when a man in a light-colored car pulled alongside her, the NYPD said.
The suspect asked the girl to get into his car but drove away when the babysitter approached, police said.
Police released a sketch of the accused predator, who is balding, has facial hair and appears to have three scars on his right cheek.
