MANHATTAN — A man was critically injured when a car hit him and drove away in Little Italy Friday morning, police said.

The unidentified 63-year-old man was crossing Bowery at Hester Street when a red Infiniti with New Jersey tags turned south onto Bowery and struck him about 7 a.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Witnesses told police that the woman driver got out of the car, looked at the victim then jumped back in and drove away, sources said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue in critical condition, the spokeswoman said.

The woman was arrested in Brooklyn after police broadcasted a description of her vehicle citywide, police said.
