QUEENS — Police released a picture of a man they said hurled anti-Mexican remarks as he punched a straphanger in the face aboard the 7 train Sunday.
The 43-year-old victim was riding the train about 4 p.m. when the suspect attacked, the NYPD said. He ran away once the train reached Court Square in Long Island City, the NYPD said.
The victim suffered a bruised nose and some cuts to his lip, but refused medical attention at the scene, police said. The NYPD is treating it as a bias assault.
His attacker is described as approximately 6 feet tall and 165 pounds, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
