LONG ISLAND CITY — A Hispanic man was attacked aboard a Queens-bound 7 train last weekend — in what police are investigating as a possible hate crime.
Police say the 43-year-old victim was on the train around 4 p.m. on Sunday when he was punched in the face by the suspect, described as a man in his 30s.
The victim told police the attacker made references to him being Mexican, according to the NYPD.
The suspect then fled the train at the Court Square station in Long Island City, police said.
The incident is being investigated by the Hate Crimes Task Force, police said.
