NEW YORK CITY — These seven dwarfs need help living happily ever after.

A collection of pit bull puppies dubbed "The Seven Dwarfs" need permanent homes after the rescue nonprofit The Bully Project saved them from squalid conditions in Queens on Sunday.

The tiny, 6- to 10-month-old pooches were found huddled together in an amateur breeder's filthy Ozone Park cellar Sunday afternoon, Bully Project program manager and Fort George resident Jennifer Bristol said.

"They were really neglected," Bristol said. "They had probably never even been outside."

The Bully Project heard about the puppies, who are all male, thanks to a tip last week. When they reached out to the owner, he told them no one had wanted to adopt the dogs and that he was overwhelmed by them.

The pooches were seen by a veterinarian in the West Village but have had no vaccinations yet, Bristol said.

"They’re very sweet," Bristol said. "They’re a little shy, but they all are very playful with each other and they were excited to be out of that environment."

The Bully Project is trying to raise $4,000 to get the dogs fully vaccinated, neutered and embedded with microchips, and created an online campaign to raise the funds. A donor has offered to match all donations made by Wednesday morning, Bristol said.

The group is hoping to find individual foster homes for each dog and will cover the costs of food, crates and training for volunteers.

"They got off to a terrible start so we want to make sure they make up for lost time," Bristol said.
