Service Changes to Disrupt 14 Subway Lines this Weekend

MANHATTAN — There should be some nice walking weather this Saturday and Sunday with temperatures expected to soar into the low 50s. You may want to take advantage of it, because 14 subway lines are set for service changes this weekend.

Here is the breakdown:

1 Line: Uptown trains will run express form 96th Street to 145th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

4 Line: There will be no service in either direction between Woodlawn and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. 5 trains will provide alternative service in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

You can use the D line or free shuttle buses for service in The Bronx.

5 Line: Trains will provide alternative service to the 4 in Brooklyn and be extended to Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

6 Line: Trains are skipping Middletown Road and Castle Hill Avenue in both directions at all times through May for station renewal work.

7 Line: There will be no service between Flushing-Main Street and Mets-Willets Point from 11:45 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle bus service will be provided.

A Line: Trains will be suspended between Jay Street-MetroTech and Utica Avenue in both directions from 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. There will be free shuttle bus service.

C Line: Service will be suspended between West 4th Street and Euclid Avenue in both directions from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

E Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Avenue to Queens Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Jamaica Center-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Avenue and Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will also skip Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Trains heading to Jamaica Center will also run local from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted over the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound trains will also skip 4th Ave-9 St, 15th St-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Pkwy from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. For service to those stations you can take the F to 7th Avenue or Church Avenue and then transfer to a Queens-bound F or G train.

Queens-bound trains will skip 75th Avenue, Van Wyck Blvd and Sutphin Boulevard from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will also run local from 21st St-Queensbridge to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:39 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Line: Church-Avenue bound trains will skip 4th Ave-9 St, 15th St-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Pkwy from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

N Line: Queens-bound trains will be rerouted over the D line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Q Train: Coney Island-bound trains will skip Parkside Avenue, Beverly Road and Cortelyou Road from 11:45 p.m. Friday until early summer for painting and concrete repair work.

Coney-Island bound trains will also run express from Newkirk Plaza to Kings Highway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

R Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Avenue to Queens Plaza from 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Queens-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Franklin Avenue Shuttle: Trains will run every 24 minutes from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
