QUEENS — It's a bit of Hollywood, by way of South Ozone Park.

An enterprising thief stole $1,600 from two shops in the neighborhood by cutting holes in their roofs, police say.

The suspect first cut a hole in the roof of 99 Cents Deal, 120-10 Liberty Ave., near 120th Street, sometime between the night of Jan. 31 and the morning of Feb. 1, police said.

He ran off with $200, an NYPD spokesman said.

Then on Feb. 5 about 4 a.m., he bored through the ceiling of Super Pioneer Supermarket, 127-16 111th Ave., near 128th Street, and stole another $1,400, lotto tickets and calling cards, the spokesman added.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect they said was taken during the Feb. 5 burglary.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
