THE BRONX — Three thieves cut a hole through the floor of a vacant University Heights apartment last week and dropped into the unit below to steal a laptop, cash and clothes, police said.

The heist occurred at 3:15 a.m. last Tuesday on University Avenue, between West Fordham Road and West 188th Street, the NYPD said.

The three burglars made off with a $3,500 HP laptop, cash and at least six garbage bags stuffed with clothing, police said. The victim was not home at the time, the NYPD said. It was not immediately clear how the thieves gained entry to the vacant unit.

Investigators released photos of the burglars, showing them clutching large black bags.

One man wore a dark jacket with light-colored hoodie, another wore a large purple jacket over a green hoodie and the third wore a blue bubble jacket with a blue baseball cap, according to the photos released by police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
