WILLIAMSBURG — After delving into the food business more than two years ago, Kinfolk Studios is now trying its hand at its own Brooklyn clothing store that is coupled with a large entertainment complex.
The 7-year-old brand has opened a boutique last week at 94 Wythe Ave., right next to its bar and restaurant, Aska.
The trendy new spot features attire from designer labels like Los Angeles-based AXS Folk Technology and Tokyo-based Bedwin & the Heartbreakers, as well as art and fashion magazines and grooming products.
“I was looking to create a truly unique and international collection that reflects the relationships we’ve built over the years,” said Kinfolk curator Jey Perie in a statement.
Also included in the space is a gallery and performance space, enclosed in a geodesic dome, as well as another bar, according to the company's website.
The new location tripled its space.
Kinfolk was founded in 2007 as a design house. It quickly expanded and opened a restaurant in Williamsburg in 2011. The group plans to open its next store in Los Angeles.
