INWOOD — Uptowners looking to enjoy New York City Beer Week won't need to travel far — one Inwood cafe has several hops-infused events on tap.

A half-dozen events are planned at Indian Road Café for Beer Week, which runs from Feb. 21 to March 2, including a Michigan craft beer night, craft beer "Olympics" and a discussion with a local brewer.

For Midwestern transplants, Michigan Craft Beer Night on Feb. 22 will feature beers from the state's Bell's Brewery and Founders Brewing Co., along with Michigan hot dogs and other Midwestern menu items. The night will also include a 9 p.m. screening of "The Michigan Craft Beer Film," a documentary on the state's brewing scene.

Indian Road Café, at 600 W. 218th St., planned the night because many of the cafe's customers hail from the Wolverine State, and also to support Michigan's breweries, manager Rachel Wild said.

"Craft beer is one of the fastest growing industries in Michigan, and it's helping the economy of Michigan, so it's a really good thing to support them," she said.

Indian Road is also raising a glass to Sochi by hosting its own Craft Beer Olympics on Feb. 21. The event will place participants in teams of four, and they will compete in physical, mental and sensory contests, such as beer pong and taste tests.

Uptown's own brewery, Dyckman Beer Co., will be featured on March 1, when visitors can sit in on a craft beer discussion with company founder Juan Camilo. The event will be entirely in Spanish, Wild said, in order to give northern Manhattan's Latino residents a chance to talk shop about beer in their native language.

Also scheduled are a beer-themed singles mixer on Feb. 25 and a screening of the film "Strange Brew" on Feb. 28. The Michigan beer night and Dyckman Beer Co. events are free; prices for the other events vary.
