QUEENS — A trucker was arrested Thursday after stealing a trailer worth $25,000 from a lot at JFK airport belonging to his former employer, DHL — and investigators are trying to determine if he is linked the thefts of several others, the Port Authority said.

Jaidatt Mangar, who also goes by the name Steve, stole the trailer from the lot outside the airport's secured area on Jan. 30 and parked it, along with the truck he used to pull it, at Linden Boulevard and Emerald Street in Brooklyn, the PAPD said.

Investigators caught up to him when they found the trailer on Feb. 5 and tracked the truck, a Columbia Freightliner, back to him, a PAPD spokesman said.

They were looking into reports by DHL which said several of its trailers had gone missing from JFK, the PAPD said.

Mangar, who is 29 and owns the trucking company Elite Logistics, was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, the PAPD said.

A Port Authority spokesman said that Mangar had previously worked for DHL, but the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
