TIMES SQUARE — An alarming dust spotted by a worker at a hotel on "Super Bowl Bouelvard" in Midtown on the eve of game day was unsubstantiated, police said.

The Crowne Plaza hotel, which is on Broadway between West 48th and 49th streets, contacted police after a worker told supervisors she'd "saw powder coming out of an envelope" around 12:30 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

A guest had reportedly given a hotel worker a room key in an envelope when some white powder spilled out, police told ABC News.

The Police Department could not substantiate the powder discovery once they were on the scene, the NYPD said.

No manager at the hotel who knew about the incident was available to speak on Saturday.
