Driver Arrested, Passenger in Critical Condition After Car Crash in Astoria

ASTORIA — A mini-van driver was arrested after crashing into a parked car on 21st Avenue, according authorities.

The unidentified 36-year-old male driver and a passenger, who suffered a heart attack, were hospitalized after the head-on crash at 10:20 a.m. in front of 28-15 21st Ave. Tuesday morning, according to the FDNY.

Both victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The driver was listed in stable condition and the passenger was in critical condition, a fire department spokesman said.

Police said that charges were pending.

NYPD detectives were on the scene Tuesday afternoon investigating the crash.
