QUEENS — A man died Friday morning in a fire in a Flushing apartment building, officials said.
The 63-year-old man, whose identity was not immediately released, was inside the 159th Street building, near 43rd Avenue, when flames erupted about 6 a.m., according to the FDNY and NYPD.
First responders found the man after the fire was brought under control about 6:37 a.m., police said.
He was unconscious, burned and suffered severe trauma, police said.
He was rushed him to New York Hospital Queens and pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the FDNY said.
