NEW BRIGHTON — Staten Island Arts has put out a call for submissions for this year's LUMEN video and art festival in New Brighton.

Artists, groups or organizations can submit work for the fifth-annual, all-day art festival, scheduled for June 28 at the Atlantic Salt Co. The venue is the same one where the first event was held, according to organizers.

The six-hour festival will feature projections, animations, performance art and sound art.

"Imagine an amusement park for art," curator David C. Terry said about last year's event.

Staten Island Arts said the event has no "main stage" or center focus, and that all the performances will go on simultaneously.

Artists can submit applications online to be part of the festival by Friday, Feb. 21. There's no entry fee to apply and all artists — not just Staten Island locals — can send applications.
