MIDTOWN — New Yorkers can look forward to a whole week of street closures before the Super Bowl.
From Jan. 26 until the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos face off on Feb. 2, locals can expect traffic headaches as Broadway will close to cars from West 34th Street to West 47th Street.
Along with Broadway, West 41st Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues will be closed from 9 a.m. to midnight for the entire week.
The closures come as Broadway transforms into "Super Bowl Boulevard" to celebrate Super Bowl XLVIII. The Great White Way will host dozens of fan activities, including a seven-story slide painted to look like a toboggan hill, football-tossing contests and photo ops with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
According to the Times Square Alliance, truck access to side streets will also be restricted in the area. From 11 a.m. until midnight, trucks will not be allowed from West 34th Street to West 42nd Street from Sixth Avenue to Seventh Avenue, and from West 42nd Street to West 48th Street from Sixth Avenue to Eighth Avenue.
Locals will avoid one headache while the Super Bowl takes over Midtown — there's an embargo on construction in the area that began on Jan. 15 and will last until Feb. 3.
