STATEN ISLAND — A man was arrested Thursday after a six-month string of Staten Island robberies in which he shot a pregnant woman in the face and a man in his hand, the NYPD said.

Abdourahmane Seck, 25, was arrested and charged with six robberies after some of his victims picked him out of a lineup, a police spokesman said.

Seck first tried to mug a 28-year-old woman at gunpoint near Castleton Avenue and Port Richmond Avenue about 4:30 a.m. on June 17, the NYPD said.

But the woman, who the Staten Island Advance said was pregnant at the time, refused to hand over cash so Seck shot her in the face, police said.

Police said the woman was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, though the Advance said she lost her unborn child.

Seven days later, Seck tried to mug an 18-year-old boy in front of 63 Harrison Ave., near Sharpe Avenue, about 6:40 a.m., but the man again refused to comply so Seck shot him in the right hand, the NYPD said.

The man, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.

Then in January, Seck robbed five more people on Staten Island. None of those people were injured, an NYPD spokesman said.

Seck faced charges of attempted murder stemming from the first incident and robbery from all the other incidents except for the second, police said.

He was not yet charged with the June 24 robbery because the victim had not yet positively identified him, an NYPD spokesman said.

Seck has been arrested 12 other times including once for a burglary in 2011 and an assault in 2013, the spokesman said. The records for the rest of those arrests were sealed, he added.
