EAST HARLEM — A school bus struck and injured a woman walking across a Harlem street Tuesday morning, fire officials and witnesses said.
The woman was crossing at the intersection of 113th Street and Second Avenue about 8:30 a.m. when the bus turned onto Second Avenue and hit her, according to the FDNY and a Department of Education spokeswoman.
She was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, the spokesman added. Her condition was not immediately available.
The bus, which belonged to Reliant Transportation Inc., had no students on board at the time, the DOE spokeswoman said. The driver remained on the scene.
Police had no immediate details about the accident.
A woman who answered the phone at Reliant also said she had no information about the incident.
