BROOKLYN — Police confirmed that an off-duty NYPD officer had been stabbed on Friday afternoon by his cousin.
The officer was stabbed in the neck and face with a knife by cousin Angelo Rosario, 64, at 3 p.m. The unidentified police officer was rushed to Kings County Hospital. He was in a stable but critical condition, police said.
Rosario has been charged with attempted murder, cops said.
The New York Post reported that the incident had occurred after a fight broke out between the two men inside the officer's Bushwick home. According to the Post, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly visited the wounded officer on Friday night in hospital.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
