7 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Folks traveling into the city for the holidays will be heartened to find out there will be fewer than usual service changes this weekend. So travel to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree, museums, etc. with abandon.

Here's the breakdown:

5 Line: Trains will not stop at the Pelham Parkway station at all times until Monday. Free shuttle buses will run between Pelham Parkway and Morris Park stations.

6 Line: North-bound trains will run express from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Trains skip Middletown Road and Castle Hill Avenue in both directions at all times until May.

A Line: There will be no service between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Trains will be rerouted to Rockaway Park. Shuttle buses will run between Beach 90th Street and Far Rockaway.

Rockaway Shuttle: Trains will be suspended and replaced by the A from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Trains will run in two sections, between Stillwell Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard, and between Bedford Park Boulevard and 205th Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

E Line: Some trains traveling from Manhattan to Queens will be rerouted to the 179th St. F Station from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

J Line: Trains will be suspended between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer in both directions from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Shuttle buses will operate between Crescent Street and Jamaica-Van-Wyck, where riders can take the E to Suthpin Boulevard and Jamaica Center.
