QUEENS — A 73-year-old woman died in a fire in her apartment at a Flushing retirement home Thursday morning, the NYPD said.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was inside her eighth-floor apartment at the Flushing House retirement home, at 38-20 Bowne St., when the fire broke out about midnight, police and the FDNY said.

Responders found her after firefighters brought the blaze under control about 40 minutes later, officials said.

The woman was rushed to Flushing Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police don't suspect any criminality was involved, but the FDNY's marshals have yet to determine the fire's cause, officials said.
