MANHATTAN — A homeless man was arrested in Harlem after knifing his stepfather to death Wednesday morning, the NYPD said.
Waldean Elliot, 32, started arguing with his stepdad, 68-year-old Ashford Geddes, at a Salvation Army building at 560 Lenox Ave., before stabbing him in his torso several times about 9 a.m., a police spokesman said.
Geddes, who lived about four blocks away on 142nd Street, was rushed to Harlem Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
Elliot fled, but was picked up by police on 141st Street, the NYPD spokesman said.
Elliot faced charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, the NYPD said.
