"The Star Wars Holiday Special" was quite possibly the worst TV holiday special ever conceived.  It is literally Star Wars meets The Carol Burnett Show as it stars the cast of the original Star Wars trilogy Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher & Harrison Ford and was written by the staff writers of the Carol Burnett Show. Tonight Hotsy Totsy Burlesque  - New York's only episodic, monthly burlesque show - presents its tribute to the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special at the R-Bar, 218 Bowery, Lower East Side.

Are you a good liar? Then this is the "game show" for you. Make stuff up about actual little-known historical events, and audience members vote for you if they believe you even slightly. From 9 p.m. at Freddy's Bar and Backroom 627 Fifth Ave, Park Slope.

Wednesday, Dec. 18
Neue Galerie presents "Vasily Kandinsky: From Blaue Reiter to the Bauhaus 1910-1925," an exhibition of masterworks that explores the development of Kandinsky’s art over a crucial period of time: from the Blaue Reiter period into the pure abstraction and total environments of his Bauhaus years.

Paul Winter, the saxophonist, composer and bandleader long known for his pioneering work with world music, jazz and the voices of the natural world has created a Brazilian-themed line-up this year, featuring Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian Ivan Lins, singer and guitarist Renato Braz, a Brazilian chorus and the 25 dancers and drummers of the Forces of Nature Dance Theatre.
