THE BRONX — When it comes to theft, finders keepers, losers weepers is not a solid defense in the eyes of the NYPD.

Officers are looking for a woman accused of pocketing a wallet left on the counter of the Longwood Rite Aid at 840 Westchester Ave. on Nov. 20.

Surveillance video, released Monday, allegedly shows the woman finding the wallet on the counter, looking over her shoulder at the man who left it there, and slowly putting it into her purse as she talks to the clerk.

The NYPD would not say exactly how much money was in the wallet, but the incident is being investigated as a grand larceny case.

The woman appears to be in her thirties, is about 5-foot-5, and wore a black coat, black sneakers, jeans and a scarf, police said.

Anyone with information on the crime should call 1-800-577-8477. All calls are confidential.
