WILLIAMSBURG — The much-anticipated record store Rough Trade opened Monday morning in a spacious North Ninth Street warehouse complete with listening stations, multiple levels of vinyl and even ping-pong tables — and a performance by pop sensation Sky Ferreira planned for Monday night.

The store at the corner of Wythe Avenue is the British company's first U.S. outlet, and includes a stage in the back and and upstairs room modeled after the bedroom of rapper Childish Gambino, who is scheduled to perform there next month.

Music lovers eagerly perused the aisles Monday morning, including fans of Ferreira who came early to make sure they snagged spots for her show.

"I think it's awesome," said Faith Johnson, 18, who had come early to see the concert. "The store has way more than I expected."

Some music connoiseurs, however, said they had anticipated more exclusive albums than were available in the store.

"The stock is the bare minimum to run a record store," said record collector Andrew Gitomer, 26. "I expected more."
