BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man tried to rape a woman during a robbery in Bed-Stuy's Reinaldo Salgado Park, police said.
The 20-year-old woman was walking near Madison Street and Patchen Avenue when police said a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her into the park.
He threw the woman to the ground, punched her repeatedly and stole about $60, police said.
After the robbery, police said the man then pushed the victim against a fence and tried to rape her before fleeing the scene.
The woman was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, a police spokeswoman said.
Police described the suspect as being about 5-foot-9 with a medium build and light hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing blue sweatpants and a dark hooded sweatshirt, police said.
