CENTRAL PARK — Police have named a man they suspect of raping a woman in Central Park early Sunday.

Omar Hoist, 32, struck up a conversation with the woman on East 88th Street near Fifth Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said.

Hoist and the woman then walked into the park together near 100th Street and sat on a bench, before he dragged her to a grassy area and raped her, police said.

The victim fled to Mt. Sinai Hospital, and Hoist took off in the opposite direction, the NYPD said.

He was last seen wearing a red hat, blue leather jacket and blue jeans. He told his victim his name was “Omar,” police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
