MANHATTAN — A popular SoHo gourmet food shop will soon open a second location in Battery Park City.
Olive’s, a longtime fixture offering freshly made takeout foods at 120 Prince St., is launching a new spot in the revamped Brookfield Place, real estate giant Brookfield Properties announced Thursday.
Known for its quick, fresh sandwiches, soups and salads, Olive's is joining a host of fast-causal eateries slated to open in Brookfield Place’s new 600-seat food court, called the Dining Terrace, in 2014.
Los Angeles burger joint Umami Burger, Cambodian-inspired sandwich shop Num Pang and Beverly Hills-based Sprinkles Cupcakes are among the other restaurants set to open in the expansive food area.
“We are delighted that this very popular, high-quality lunchtime destination will help fulfill the demand for the best takeout soups and sandwiches at Brookfield Place,” said Ed Hogan, Brookfield’s national director of retail leasing, in a statement.
Other eateries that have signed on to the food court include: Dig Inn Seasonal Market; Chop't Creative Salad Company; Mexican taqueria Dos Toros; Little Muenster, known for "super fancy grilled cheese sandwiches"; and healthy Long Island-based Skinny Pizza.
