GRASMERE — A two-car crash in Grasmere sent one car careening into a Targee Street home on Wednesday afternoon.

The silver Lexus and maroon Scion collided at 2:19 p.m., a spokeswoman for the FDNY said, and the impact pushed the Scion into the front wall of Lisa Koenig's home.

One person was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, but fire officials did not know the extent of the injuries.

Koenig returned home shortly after the crash, after picking up her kids.

"I was just in shock," she said. "I was relieved that nobody was home — the kids weren't in the yard."

Koenig said the car didn't do any major damage to her home — it just made small cracks in the wall and knocked down the bushes in her front yard.

However, she said this isn't the first time something like this has happened on the block.

Last summer, a car ran into the bus island in front of her home, taking it down and smashing it into her car, she said.
