BROOKLYN — Two men were arrested Sunday night after they crashed into a parked van on Myrtle Avenue, injuring a man inside, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police first encountered one of the men hitting a parked car with a baseball bat near Throop and Myrtle avenues about 10:15 p.m., the spokesman said.

He hopped into a waiting car which sped away with police on its tail, the NYPD said.

The car slammed into a parked van near Tompkins and Myrtle avenues, flipping it over, police said.

A man who was in the van was taken to Woodhull Hospital in serious but stable condition, FDNY and NYPD officials said.

The two men in the car were apprehended there and were still awaiting charges Monday morning, police said.
