PARK SLOPE — The changing seasons mean changing food options for Park Slope, with a s'mores and hot chocolate bar set to replace a popsicle shop soon.

Winter Warmers will open on Halloween at 808B Union St. near Seventh Avenue, in the space that's occupied by People's Pops during the spring and summer.

Co-owners Madison Gouzie and Eric Holstein met at college in Maine, where they became well-acquainted with long, harsh winters and the need to fight off the cold with warming treats.

Their shop, first reported by Park Slope Stoop, will provide a cozy spot to warm up while snacking on sweets, Gouzie told DNAinfo New York. The store will be open until March.

Winter Warmers will have a "light," fun atmosphere similar to an ice cream shop, Gouzie said. He's expecting to cater to families and kids on their way home from school.

"It’s a neighborhood place where you can escape the cold," Gouzie said.

The beverage list will include hot chocolate, apple cider and "hot butter batter," which Gouzie described as tasting like a melted snickerdoodle cookie.

Customers will also be able to create their own s'mores, choosing from four marshmallow flavors (strawberry, honey, coconut, pumpkin) and toppings such as butterscotch chips. They'll be served on half-baked graham crackers, which are softer than traditional graham crackers.

"When you melt it down, it becomes this gelatinous goodness," Gouzie said.
