SOHO — A man tried to rape an NYU student inside the lobby of her Thompson Street building earlier this week, sources said.

The suspect grabbed the 20-year-old woman from behind as she entered the building between Spring and Prince streets at 1:15 a.m. Oct. 8, police said.
