Passenger Struck and Killed by D Train at Yankee Stadium Station

THE BRONX — A straphanger was struck and killed by the D train Thursday afternoon at the 161st-Yankee Stadium subway stop, an FDNY spokesman said.

Emergency medical responders arrived to the scene of the accident about 3:40 p.m and pronounced the unidentified person dead, the spokesman said.

Southbound B and D trains were running express between Tremont Avenue and 145th Street, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

This was the second fatality on the subway system on Thursday.

A woman was struck and killed by a train at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station about 12:30 p.m.
