HUNTERS POINT — The owners of popular Long Island City cafe, Coffeed, are set to open a concession at new waterfront Hunters Point South Park, DNAinfo New York has learned.
The location will be an open-air restaurant to be called LIC Landing, according to posts on City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer and Coffeed's Facebook pages.
The new 5-acre Hunters Point South Park opened this summer on the Long Island City waterfront, part of the city's planned Hunters Point South housing development.
The park includes a children's playground, basketball courts, a spacious dog run and a large recreational lawn, as well as a landscaped "rail garden" with plants and flowers growing around a set of train tracks.
Coffeed is a popular eco-friendly cafe located at 37-18 Northern Blvd., where they source ingredients from Brooklyn Grange's 1-acre farm located on the building's roof.
The company's owners recently opened a pizzeria in Jamaica, where the toppings also include vegetables from Brooklyn Grange.
