MANHATTAN — A well-dressed man followed a woman into her TriBeCa apartment building Friday night and tried to rape her, cops said.
The 39-year-old woman, whose identity was not released, had just entered her building about 9:15 p.m., when the suspect shoved her to the ground and tried to rape her, according to the NYPD.
Another man walked in as the attack was taking place and scared off the suspect, police said.
The woman was bruised in the attack and treated at an area hospital, cops said.
Surveillance footage released by police shows the suspect calmly walking away after the attack, wearing a navy blazer, white collared shirt, dark pants and dress shoes.
Police said he appeared to be about 50, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing between 170 to 200 pounds.
