FOREST HILLS — A Queens woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver as she was trying to cross Queens Boulevard on Saturday night.
Nisath Hossain, 58, was struck while crossing the boulevard at 71st Avenue, in a busy commercial district at around 10:18 p.m., police said. Rescuers found her lifeless body in the roadway and rushed her to North Shore Hospital, where she later died.
An investigation revealed Hossain had been crossing the boulevard at 71st Avenue/Continental Avenue from south to north, when she was hit by a westbound vehicle that fled the scene.
Police did not immediately have information relating to the driver, and an investigation was ongoing.
