Poetry Series and Writing Workshop Come to Bryant Park Reading Room

MIDTOWN — A dozen poets — including actress/scribe Amber Tamblyn — are scheduled to visit the Bryant Park Reading Room this fall, performing free readings of their works on three evenings between Sept. 19 through Oct. 15.

A pair of writing counselors will also host an afternoon workshop on college-essay writing on Sept. 21.

Here's the schedule:

Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.:
Word for Word Poetry: Nikola Madzirov ("Remnants of Another Age"), Derrick Brown ("Strange Light") and Amber Tamblyn ("Free Stallion").

Saturday, Sept. 21, at 12:30 p.m.
Word for Word Teen Writers: College Essay Writing, facilitated by Rebecca Wallace-Segall and Danielle Sheeler.

Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.:
Word for Word Poetry: Michael Kelleher ("Human Scale"), Amy King ("I Want to Make You Safe"), Kristina Marie Darling ("The Moon and Other Inventions"), Leah Umansky ("Domestic Uncertainties") and Geoffrey Gatza ("Apollo").

Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.:
Word for Word Poetry: Amir Or ("Gospel of Thomas" and "Mahabharata"), Lynn Levin ("Miss Plastique"), Eduardo Corral ("Slow Lightning") and Philip Brady ("Fathom").
