BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man was hospitalized after being shot outside of a grocery store across the street from the Tompkins Houses in Bed-Stuy on Saturday afternoon, police and witnesses said.

The 25-year-old victim was shopping at the 759 Park Ave. grocery store about 2:20 p.m. on Saturday when, upon exiting, the shooter was waiting for him, according to a store clerk.

The clerk, Noradden Alsamet, 19, said he was making a sandwich behind the deli counter when he heard four-or-five shots, and instinctively dove to the ground.

The victim then ran inside the store bleeding, clutching his neck, the clerk said.

"It was fast," Alsamet said. "I got up and I saw the guy on the floor."

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital Center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, where police said he was recovering.

Alsamet said cops took video of the suspect from the store's surveillance cameras, and police said a man was seen fleeing the scene in a Dodge Charger.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
