REGO PARK — A man raped and robbed a woman in Rego Park and tossed her down a flight of stairs in Rego Park last Friday after the victim rejected his advances, cops said.

The suspect, who allegedly harassed and verbally assaulted his female victim, 52, inside a Rite Aid after following her from a nearby R train station, is still at large, police said.

The victim first encountered the man, who introduced himself as Junior, as she got off the R train at 63rd Drive near Queens Boulevard on Friday at 11 p.m., cops said.

The woman refused the suspect's requests for her name and number, and entered the store at 93-14 63rd Dr., where he continued harassing her inside, police said.

Shortly afterward, he left, but the when the victim walked out of the pharmacy, the man was waiting for her, cops said.

She headed down Saunders Street, where the man grabbed her and threw her down a flight of stairs at 63-45 Saunders St., cops said.

That's where the man allegedly raped the victim and then stole her purse and cell phone.

The woman was rushed to a hospital and treated for her injuries, police said. The severity of her injuries was not immediately clear.
