NEW YORK CITY — A man was critically injured when he was fixing his SUV and the jack propping up the vehicle gave way, crushing him beneath the car, sources said.

The 32-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was pinned at a home near 59th Place and 59th Drive about 10:30 p.m. Monday, according to the FDNY.

He suffered serious head trauma and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, a fire spokesman said.
