CHINATOWN — Cops were looking for three men Thursday who pretended to be undercover police officers and robbed a man in Chinatown last month.

According to the NYPD, a man approached the victim early in the morning on July 14, said he was "under cover" and began to go through the man's pockets. Two other men stood nearby and acted as lookouts, cops said.

The alleged robber took the man's credit card along with other property and fled. Both the man and a witness chased after the trio after realizing they weren't actually cops, police said.

By the time the victim caught up to the trio, they said they no longer had his belongings, police said.

The credit card was used about an hour later in the East Village by a man wearing a gray baseball cap, camouflage pants and a marijuana leaf T-shirt and a woman wearing a white or gray shirt and blue jeans, cops said.
