INWOOD — Dyckman Street's newest eatery is a four-wheeled, burger-flipping machine.
Mr. Nice Guy, a new venture of Inwood's Dyckman Bar, is open for business and dishing out sliders and fries to after-hours foodies.
The truck, which held its grand opening on Aug. 2 outside of Dyckman Bar at 221 Dyckman Street, serves food from 5 to 10 p.m. on weeknights.
"We're working to bring some good burgers uptown," said Dyckman Bar employee Franchesca Rodriguez. "Sliders, fries, just some good food."
Diners can choose from the $3.50 beef, turkey and grilled cheese sliders and the $5 classic, sweet potato and yuca fries. Customers can also get a box of sliders and fries for $9.
For the weekend foodies, Mr. Nice Guy will serve Sunday brunch, giving locals the option of French toast and chicken and waffles.
While the black and yellow food truck will mostly operate on Dyckman Street, bar owner Joe Irizarry said it will also make occasional pit stops around the neighborhood.
Word of the Mr. Nice Guy has spread quickly on social media, where locals singing praises of the new food offering.
"Whatcha know about @mrniceguytruck?! Sliders. Fries. Life is good," wrote Twitter user @Bernie_Bernz Friday night.
"Always get some special sauce! Yuca fries and Sweet Potatoe fries are amazing!" added user @IncredibleLiLi.
And the praise has continued into the real world.
"It's pretty good," said Pamela Garcia, who works at nearby Mama Sushi for four years. "It's good for lunch. I usually eat a home-cooked meal, but now I can just come here."
